You can help fix this situation

AB 2043, pending now in the CA legislature, builds a Response System for foster youth:

  • Establishes a statewide, toll-free hotline available 24/7 for caregivers and foster youth who need immediate help
  • Requires counties to establish mobile response teams for face-to-face, in home response on a 24/7 basis to help stabilize the living situation.

This Response System will help caregivers and children with the support they need and reduce calls to law enforcement, and ensure fewer contacts between foster youth and the criminal justice system.
